SUrgery Bookings
Paul holds regular advice surgeries throughout the constituency approximately every three weeks.
Current issues
Protecting the services and status of Withybush Hospital is Paul’s top priority. Maintaining access to hospital services based locally is vital to the safety and convenience of Pembrokeshire people.
Staff
Paul employs two members of staff, one based in Havefordwest, and one based in the Assembly in Cardiff Bay. They are there to help deal with any issues affecting constituents and to help Paul in his role as an Assembly Member and Shadow Minister.
David Howlett
My name is David Howlett. I work in Paul’s constituency office, 20 Upper Market Street, Haverfordwest. I previously worked with Paul for LloydsTSB, like Paul having worked for them for 20 years.
My role involves assisting Paul in his role as Assembly Member for Preseli Pembrokeshire. The job is very varied, with each working day never being the same. The majority of my time is spent helping constituents with advice and enquiries. This involves liaising with various bodies on behalf of the constituent to try to find a successful resolution to the issue. This can be challenging, but very interesting as we get involved in lots of varying local issues.
Other aspects to my role include organising and attending Paul’s regular Advice Surgeries held throughout Preseli Pembrokeshire, accompanying Paul to the numerous meetings and visits he has in the constituency.
On the 1st May 2008, I was elected onto Pembrokeshire County Council as the Councillor for the Wiston Ward. This Ward includes Clarbeston Road, Wiston, Spittal and Ambleston. I am one of five Conservative Councillors elected to Pembrokeshire County Council following these elections.
Ffion Atwell
My name is Ffion and I work as Paul’s assistant in the National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff.
My role is very varied, dealing with day to day Assembly issues, such as Assembly Questions, research for speeches and debates, organising meetings, as well as dealing with constituency casework.
I have been working for Paul since September, having previously worked as a PA for a recruitment company. I’m really enjoying the challenges that the role brings – every day brings something different!
Outside of work, I am a massive rugby fan (being a Neath girl, it’s Ospreys all the way!), love shopping and catching up with my friends, as well as reading and spending time with my family.
