Local AM Paul Davies has recently raised concerns regarding orthodontic services in Pembrokeshire, in the Chamber with the First Minister, Rt Hon Carwyn Jones AM.

Paul Davies said, "I raised the issue of orthodontic services with the First Minister, as it is of huge concern to my constituents, many of whom have to travel to Swansea for treatment.

"Earlier this year, the Health, Wellbeing and Local Government Committee conducted an inquiry into orthodontic services. The then Minister for Health and Social Services accepted the committee's recommendation to support the establishment of local managed clinical networks across Wales. It's now time for an update so that we can see what progress, if any the Government is making on this issue."

"Orthodontic care in Pembrokeshire has been in crisis for some time and it is essential that the Welsh Government take the necessary steps to rectify this situation. The First Minister has said that there has been a problem ensuring that an orthodontist is appointed at Withybush Hospital; and I will continue to monitor this issue and press the Government on this at every available opportunity."
