During the visit, Mr Davies and Mr Millar toured various parts of the hospital, including the recently opened Accident & Emergency Unit, and discussed amongst other things the challenges faced both at present and in the future. Commenting on the visit, Mr Davies said "I was very pleased that my colleague and Shadow Health Minister, Darren Millar could visit Withybush Hospital, and meet the Chairman of the Hywel Dda Health Board and Hospital General Manager. Darren was especially impressed with the Accident and Emergency Department opened last year, and it is this quality of service at our local hospital we must aspire to across the board." Whilst at the hospital, Mr Davies took the opportunity to sign up to the Hywel Dda Health Board's Talking Health Scheme, where members of the public pledge to take greater responsibility for their own health and well being. Mr Davies said "I am very pleased to sign up to this excellent idea for improving the health of the residents of Pembrokeshire, and would urge people to get involved and join me in taking part."
