The event aimed to highlight freedom food in Wales and to celebrate that there are now over 1,000 products carrying the freedom food logo sold in retailers and farm shops across the UK. Freedom food is the farm assurance and food-labelling scheme set up by the RSPCA which ensures that animal welfare standards are met and that the lives of as many farm animals as possible are improved. Paul Davies said "I am delighted to support the Freedom Food campaign. This scheme ensures that animals are reared to the best possible welfare standards and they are regularly updated to continue to provide better ways to rear the animals." "It is very pleasing to see this scheme continuing to grow. I would like to urge people in Pembrokeshire to consider buying 'freedom food' labelled items and showing their support for better animal welfare standards."
