Local Assembly Member Paul Davies said, "I am very disappointed to hear that funding has been stopped for this proposed project. This is a non-profit organisation whose core aim is to improve the quality of life for all who live on the Mount Estate and it appears as though they have been led up a dead end. This group has been cooperative from the start of the process and have worked closely with Pembrokeshire County Council to ensure that each stage was completed properly. The Welsh Assembly Government funded the project initially, paying up to £20,000 for a feasibility study. They also supported the Association through official assessments to the first ballot. Since then, the Welsh Assembly Government has decided not to continue any further with this project. Unfortunately, it appears that tenants' rights are not a priority for the Welsh Assembly Government at this time. The volunteers at the Association have worked tirelessly on this issue and it would be grossly unfair for the Assembly Government to turn its back on them at this stage of the process. By the Mount Community Association taking on the estate, it is hoped that money will be saved in the future on the delivery of services."
