Local AM Paul Davies has raised concerns over tourism and the food sector in Pembrokeshire, in the Chamber with the Minister for Heritage. Paul Davies said, "I raised the issue of the food tourism sector with the Minister, following calls from groups such as farmers' unions, who have recently noted that there is greater potential for food tourism in rural Wales. The rural tourism world is rapidly changing and developing, although there is still a way to go. I was pleased to hear that the Welsh Assembly Government has developed a food tourism action plan that brings together the work of the Department for Rural Affairs with that of the Visit Wales marketing team. Work on this strategy is still underway and I look forward to seeing the progress made from this plan. Tourism and agriculture are the two largest industries here in Pembrokeshire and I will continue to monitor the development of the food tourism action plan to ensure that businesses in Pembrokeshire are being fully supported."
