Pembrokeshire's Conservative Assembly Members have been given reassurances by the company building Pembroke's new power station that they are using as much local manpower as possible.
Angela Burns and Paul Davies visited the npower power station for an update on the project and to meet the main building contractors Alstom. "We were told exactly how many workers they are employing from within the Pembrokeshire postcode, how many from within Wales and so on," said Mrs Burns. "At the moment a very high percentage are local but they did tell us that during the next stage of building they may have to looking further afield for skilled trades as so many local ones are already being employed, on the shutdown at Murco, at LNG and at the power station." Mr Davies added: "We had a full and frank discussion and we are happy that Alstom is being completely accountable in this matter."
