Haverfordwest Hosts Community Engagement Forum

Local Assembly Member Paul Davies recently attended a Community Engagement Forum, with fellow Welsh Conservative colleagues Andrew RT Davies, Suzy Davies and MP for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire, Simon Hart. The event, held in Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, brought together delegates from Pembroke Castle, the Wales Association of Self-Catering Organisations, the Institute of Hospitality, Pembrokeshire Tourism, the National Farmers' Union and the Federation of Small Businesses. The forum discussed the key barriers to tourism growth in West Wales, how support in marketing and web presence could be improved by the Welsh Government and what steps could be taken to help small business growth.

Haverfordwest Hosts ‘Your Voice’ Event

Many of the main players in the Pembrokeshire tourist industry met to discuss the future of the sector together with representatives from the Welsh Conservatives, the official Opposition in the National Assembly.

The event, held in Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, was hosted by Leader of the Opposition, Andrew RT Davies and brought together delegates from Pembroke Castle, the Wales Association of Self-Catering Organisations, the Institute of Hospitality, Pembrokeshire Tourism, the National Farmers' Union and the Federation of Small Businesses.

A Budget That ‘Helps and Supports Wales’

Commenting on the UK Government's Budget, Leader of the Opposition Andrew RT Davies AM said:

"This is a Budget targeted at growth that helps and supports communities across Wales.

"From fuel duty to income tax, from childcare to capital spending; this is extremely welcome news that provides a stark contrast to Welsh Labour's tired policies and casino economics.

Old Health Minister Bounces Referral Back to Watchdog

Welsh Conservatives have condemned a move by the previous Health Minister to effectively ignore a watchdog's referral and 'bounce it back to them.'

On the day of her removal from the position, Lesley Griffiths wrote to Assembly Members informing them that the Community Health Council for mid and west Wales would be told to 'work with the LHB to agree how such services can be maintained within available resources.'

It follows the watchdog's decision to refer the board's plans for reorganisation to the Minister.

Local AM Visits Phoenix Wellbeing Society

Paul is pictured with Members of the Phoenix Wellbeing Society.Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has visited the Phoenix Wellbeing Society to meet with members and deliver a presentation on his role as the Assembly Member for Preseli Pembrokeshire and the work of the National Assembly for Wales. The Phoenix Wellbeing Society aims to promote wellbeing in Pembrokeshire amongst, but not exclusively to, elderly and vulnerable people by offering a range of facilities, support and services.

Mr Davies said "This visit was a great opportunity to meet with the members of the Phoenix Wellbeing Society and to hear their concerns. I was more than happy to deliver a presentation outlining my work as an Assembly Member and to provide information about the roles and functions of the National Assembly for Wales, which I hope the group found useful."
