Minister Declines SWAT Meeting Invitation

Local Assembly Member Paul Davies AM is pictured outside Withybush hospital.Local Assembly Member Paul Davies AM has expressed his disappointment at the Health Minister's decision to decline an invitation to meet the Save Withybush Action Team. Mr Davies invited the new Health Minister Lesley Griffiths AM, to meet with the group, after he brought a short debate on services at Withybush hospital to the Assembly Chamber last term.

Preseli Pembrokeshire Politicians Support Save Hubberston Fort Campaign

Local Assembly Member Paul Davies is pictured with Andy Kuruc, Mike Hillen and Lou Pooley from the Save Hubbeston Fort campaign.Preseli Pembrokeshire politicians Paul Davies AM and Stephen Crabb MP are publicly supporting the Save Hubberston Fort Campaign to keep the nineteenth century fort preserved and open to the public. The campaign has issued a petition to call upon Milford Haven Port Authority & Pembrokeshire County Council to commit to finding a sustainable and long term future for Hubberston Fort, and one which preserves the heritage of the site for generations to come.

Paul Davies said "I am delighted to support the Save Hubberston Fort campaign. This fort is an important part of Pembrokeshire's local history and it is important that it is made open to the public so that we can share this site not only with the local community but with tourists and visitors as well."

ICT Value For Money Lessons ‘Must Be Learnt’

Commenting on the Wales Audit Office's report on the Merlin contract to provide ICT services to the Welsh Government and National Assembly for Wales, Shadow Minister for Finance, Paul Davies AM, said:

"The inflated costs over successive Assembly Governments, as highlighted in this report, provide very bleak reading and taxpayers will rightly question why overall value for hundreds of millions of pounds is 'uncertain'.

Call For Security Review After Government Invoices Are Found In Hedge

Paul Davies – Assembly Member for Preseli Pembrokeshire – was handed the documents, which included bills for thousands of pounds and bank details for Dyfed Powys Police.


Systemic Failings Must Be Addressed

Commenting on the joint report by Estyn and CSSIW on the safeguarding of children in education services in Pembrokeshire, Angela Burns AM, Shadow Minister for Education, said:

"This report identifies serious failings, which are all the more astonishing given that Pembrokeshire County Council was rated as one of the top three Welsh education authorities only three years ago.

Taxpayers’ Millions Poured Into Labour-Donating Unions

The Labour-led Assembly Government has given over £2million of public money to Labour-donating trade unions, Welsh Conservatives claimed today.

Correspondence to Paul Davies AM, Deputy Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the National Assembly, revealed that £2.4million of public funds have been given to trade unions, which have made substantial donations to the Labour Party as well as Carwyn Jones' leadership bid.
