Paul Davies Takes Vital Role in New Shadow Cabinet

Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has been appointed Deputy Leader and Shadow Minister for Finance, by the new Welsh Conservative Assembly Group leader, Andrew R.T. Davies AM.

Paul Davies said "I am delighted to become both Deputy Leader of the group and Shadow Minister for Finance and I hope that these new responsibilities will further support me in continuing to work on behalf of the people of Preseli Pembrokeshire."

Ministers’ Rail Travel Expenses Revealed

Assembly Ministers spent £40,000 on train travel over the last two years.

Figures obtained by the Welsh Conservatives – under the Freedom of Information Act - show the total expenditure for each Minister during 2009/10 and 2010/11.

On-going Withybush Hospital Concerns Highlighted

Paul Davies AM is pictured outside Withybush HospitalPreseli Pembrokeshire Assembly Member Paul Davies last week again highlighted on-going concerns regarding services at Withybush District General Hospital in the Assembly Chamber.

Mr Davies was chosen to hold a short debate in The Senedd on a subject of his choice this week, and chose the title "Watching Over Withybush: Why Services Must Stay Put". In his speech, Mr Davies highlighted the reduction of services that has already affected Withybush Hospital in the areas of orthodontics and histopathology.

Jones “Dithering” Over Manufacturing

The Acting Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the Assembly has accused the First Minister of "dithering" over the future of manufacturing in Wales.

Carwyn Jones has today rejected calls for a Welsh Government manufacturing strategy during First Minister's Questions, despite previous assurances that one would be published.

Paul Davies Visits Jig-So Children’s Centre

Jig-So was established in 1992, and supports parents, carers and children in not only Ceredigion, but also Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, through a range of activities. In their near 20 year history, the organisation has expanded from being available to users two afternoons per week, to now four days a week.

FM Refuses To Apologise For “Waiting Times Blunder”

The Acting Leader of the Opposition has asked the First Minister to apologise for misleading the chamber after his refusal to accept that NHS waiting lists are getting worse.

Official figures show that 227,000 patients were waiting to start treatment in the NHS when Carwyn Jones became First Minister.
