Pembrokeshire Health Mergers "Topsy Turvy"

The reorganisation of Pembrokeshire's health care system is topsy-turvy, says local AM Paul Davies.

The Welsh Assembly Government has announced that the three health care trusts which cover the old Dyfed area are to be merged to save on administration costs.

Now the health minister Edwina Hart has revealed that she's also likely to create a "federation" of Local Health Boards.

Inspection Pressure on Farmers "Unbearable"

The unbearable pressure put on farmers by numerous inspections has been highlighted in the Welsh Assembly by Paul Davies AM.

Speaking in a Conservative-led debate calling for a reduction in the amount of red tape in the farming industry he said: "Without doubt there is an excessive duplication of work by inspection bodies due to their inability to share information.

Top Green Community Projects Receive Award From AM

Paul-TopGreenPaul Davies AM for Preseli Pembrokeshire has presented Friends of Mynachlog Ddu Playingfields with a prestigious 'Green Pennant' Award for an unprecedented third year running.

Only 77 community green spaces have been rewarded with a Green Pennant in the UK, an award exclusively for those sites managed by voluntary and community groups. 17 Green Pennant Awards have been given to sites in Wales, which is an increase of 42% on last year.

Investment Key to Eradicating Broadband 'Not Spots'

Paul-TFLWelsh Conservatives today called on the Labour-Plaid Assembly Government to commit increased funding to eradicate Wales' broadband 'not spots'.

Shadow Culture Minister and Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies commented:

"There are still a great number of people in Pembrokeshire who are unable to access broadband services.

"The installation of facilities to accommodate broadband services in 'not spots' such as remote rural areas can be very costly."
