Paul Davies, who is also the Assembly Member for Preseli Pembrokeshire, says the scheme is a great way to get more youngsters into sport.

Ministers Failing to Invest in Marketing Wales

Figures obtained by the party reveal that the coalition government is spending £5mn less on tourism marketing than the Wales Tourist Board did five years ago.
Shadow Heritage Minister Paul Davies AM described the news as "startling" and accused ministers of a "narrow-sighted approach" to investing in one of Wales' key industries.

Mr Davies was a member of the Welsh Assembly's Broadcasting Committee which has just completed a report on the future of public service broadcasting in Wales.
He spelled out how vital broadcast media is in Wales, especially as there are so few newspapers that purely cover the Principality.
"Broadcasting plays an important part in our lives, as citizens, we may not always appreciate how important it is," the Preseli Pembrokeshire AM told the Senedd.

The Conservatives have lobbied against having 22 separate trusts covering Wales since they were introduced by Labour in 2003.
Health Minister Edwina Hart announced on July 16 that she is planning to do away with all of the Welsh NHS Trusts and LHBs and replace them with seven separate health organisations.

From September, all primary schools in Wales are switching to the new system which has a greater emphasis on learning through play and requires many more teachers and classroom assistants.
However there were major flaws in working out the funding of the new programme which have been highlighted in today's Welsh Assembly Finance Committee report.

Olympic Trip Costing Nearly £15K

Figures obtained by Clwyd West AM Darren Millar show that while no Government Ministers will be attending, one official will represent Wales as part of a Nations and Regions delegation.
A second official visiting Beijing for only a few days will have their costs met by the British Olympic Association.
Mr Millar AM said:
"This seems like a staggering amount of money just to send one person to China.
Welsh Assembly Government Must Do More to Attract Top Sporting Events

The Preseli Pembrokeshire AM says that after the Ryder Cup in Gwent in 2010 there is a dearth of top events coming to the country.
"We have some of the best facilities in the UK with the Olympic pool in Swansea and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and we must make sure we are promoting them properly as venues for prestigious international events," said Mr Davies.
